I am a Celiac with lactose intolerance, and my 3 yr old granddaughter is a Celiac with a Casein allergy. If you choose to go gluten-free (for whatever reason) you are safe with fresh fruits and vegetables, which can be purchased at any grocery store and usually at college cafeterias. Because you don’t eat meat, you need to be sure you get enough protein from other sources – easy ones are beans, nuts and peanut butter. Also, you need calcium, Vitamin D and magnesium since you don’t consume dairy products. Soy and rice milk are not much more expensive than dairy milk. I would be happy to help you with recipes for easy, inexpensive gluten-free, dairy-free recipes. I published a cookbook "Don’t Feed Me – Gluten-free, Dairy-free Cooking". I would be happy to send a copy to you at no charge in order to help you understand the gluten-free, dairy-free diet and to help you with basic meals. In order to protect your email address, you can email me at joycen@dontfeedme.com and let me know where to send the cookbook.

I have Celiac Dieseas, and the food and be VERY expensive.
But, not eveything is.
I’m not sure where you live, but there’s a place in Whittier CA.
It’s a small store but they have EVERYTHING you can think of.
Gluten Free pretzels, cakes, cake mixes, chocolate chip cookies, english muffins, donuts, chocolate wafers, etc.
They can be pricey but just manage your money well and you won’t have a problem.
It’s called Herbies(weird name)
Heres the website.

Theres also a place called the gluten free mall:

Alot of their stuff tastes like normal things which makes it better(:
Try looking into the products named Kinikanik, something like that.
They have the good english muffins, hot dog buns, bagels, everything.
Because some of the things are just plain gross and dont taste normal at all.
Hope I helped!
Good luck!

Unless you have a gluten allergy or coeliac disease than there is no harm in consuming gluten. Gluten is actually beneficial to vegetarians as it adds protein into the diet. In case you did not know too, all grains naturally contain gluten unless the gluten was taken out by processing.

In addition, new research has just come out that says gluten intolerance has nothing to do with gluten its self. The intolerance is a result of not have enough good bacteria in your intestinal tract. In your case, that’s probably because you cut out a rich source of good bacteria since you do not eat any dairy. I suggest you stop being a strict vegan and become a lacto-vegan.
