You don’t. The sim won’t work. AT&T does not support the iPhone as a prepaid.
the service you have may not be enough to use on a phone that requires internet in order to funtion… not all phones can use prepaid…
If you downgrade the latest firmware from (3.1.1) or (3.1.2) to just 3.1 you might have a chance. If you’re not sure which one you have go to Settings, General, About. I know when Apple released 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 firmware this removed the capability of using a go phone sim card. If your iphone is not locked, unlock it by using the "how to" videos on youtube and then check Cydia for Fuzzyband Downgrader. Install it and follow the instructions to downgrade to a previous version. Install back the sim card and see what happens.
If this doesn’t work then maybe go buy another go phone for $25. I say this because AT&T properly tagged your original sim card you were trying to use. Once they tag it it’s useless on the iPhone. Activate the new sim using the gophone, not on the iPhone. Once it’s activated, pop the sim into the iPhone, make sure you have 3.1 installed and not 3.1.1 or 3.1.2. AT&T can’t detect whether you’re running a gophone sim card when the iphone is on 3.1 firmware and thus can’t tag it. This should work and if it doesn’t it then I don’t know. Let me know what happens.
Whenever you connect your iPhone and open iTunes ALWAYS reject the latest iphone update as this will format the phone and all your hard work down the drain.
This is a load of bunk. The newest orange/white Gophone sim is locked to the phone that it was activated in for six months. That is their new rule. If you want to get it to work on your iphone, you will have to go to Att corporate store and ask for a NON Gophone replacement sim with your account balance and number and use that. It is usually free if you ask nice. Tell them your phone that you activated it in got busted up and could they give you that other sim to replace it.
